Retirement of Johnny McGinty from Priority Construction Ltd 1975-2015
Friday the 30th of January 2015 marked the retirement of a long standing employee of the company, Johnny McGinty from Achill, Co. Mayo.
Johnny had given Priority Construction fantastic service lasting over 40 years. Having joined Priority Construction in 1975 he worked on many projects the length and breadth of Ireland. His commitment and loyalty to the company was second to none.
Johnny worked as an excavator operator, he was a very skilled driver and was well known for his cool & calm approach. Throughout the years he worked on a large variety of projects varying from Landfill projects, Road projects, Water & Sewerage Scheme works, Site Enabling projects and many other projects. Any contract that required an excavator “Johnny was the man called to action and the more intricate the task the better”.... As quoted by a site foreman “Johnny could top an egg with an excavator bucket”....
On Saturday the 31st of January we were delighted to be able to mark the occasion of Johnny’s retirement in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone. Having given such an outstanding service to Priority Construction it was great to be able to honour Johnny for his outstanding service and commitment to the company. We were joined on the night by Johnny’s family and by his colleagues within Priority Construction. Johnny’s popularity within the company was highlighted by the large attendance on the night and with the great stories of all the different challenges & fun times throughout the years.
Priority Construction would like to extend a huge thank you to Johnny & his family for his service to the company and we would like to wish him all the best in his retirement.
