Training Days

The commitment of Priority Construction Ltd to its employees is evident on an ongoing basis in various ways especially through the investment in the “Continual Professional Development” and training of all its employees.

 

We stood down all of the sites on Wednesday 03rd, Thursday 04th & Friday 05th Jan 2018 to facilitate a variety of training and CPD events.

 

These events included the following:

  • Occupational First Aid training and refresher – This was to update and refresh our current occupational first aiders within the company.

  • Emergency First Aid training – This training was delivered to all other operatives to supplement our site management who already are in possession of occupational first aid.

  • Behavioural safety event – Theatre at Work delivered a workshop based on a real-life accident.  This was an interactive workshop which really got participants thinking about their behaviour and how it can influence others on a construction site.  It facilitated the opportunity to explore some of the human factors that influence a culture of safety in any sector.

  • Effects of amputation – The person who developed and delivered this workshop has lost their leg in a real-life accident.  They told their story as to how the accident happened and why.  It was also interesting to hear of the effects it had on him and his family mentally, physically and financially.

  • Microsoft Project Training – This was refresher training for our site management to ensure that they are proficient in up to date project packages.

  • Internally HSEQ Awareness – this presentation reiterated the importance of Health & Safety on our sites and communicated in detail our internal management system, policies and procedures.

  • Gas Awareness & Monitoring – The manufacturer of our current gas monitors delivered this training to demonstrate how to use the gas monitors and general awareness around gas and the potential for the presence of gas in various situations.

The feedback from all attendees was very positive and they can really see the benefit in upskilling & continuous training where they feel valued as employees.
