Key Project Elements
- Careful Demolition of existing three arch masonry river bridge & approaches
- Reconstruction of new three arch in-situ bridge & approach walls
- Carried out associated concrete works 1,350m3 & cladding of the Bridge with salvaged masonry
- Reinforced concrete works to the whole of bridge structure including arch deck span
- Construction on new carriageway & c.1km of pavement resurfacing
- Installation of 400m of ESB Ducting & 1,200m of 100mm Service Ducting
- Environmental issues involved working over, in & adjacent to the Belcoo River
- Diverted existing river using temporary dams, generally utilising clay dams in association with ‘Aqua Barriers’
- The fisheries department were liaised with during the whole project complying with environmental controls
- Traffic management in the towns of Belcoo & Blacklion
